February - Community Service Work day.

The February Meeting was a work day to make Community Service Quilts.  The quilts that were finished at the meeting will be distributed through Willmar Ambulance.

What was accomplished at the meeting? There were 9 total finished, 2 stitched around ready to be tied, and 1 more ready to stitch around and then tied.

There will be 22 total quilts  ready to be distributed through the Willmar Ambulance. Two of these quilts went directly to fire victims.

Many members tied quilts that night.

A lot of the quilt patterns were the disappearing nine patch.
The Community Service chairwomen cut out the blocks and handed them out to members to take home and sew then return them to the meeting. Gale Johnson and Jackie Orson are the chairwomen for the Community Service and voluntarily sew a lot of the tops together.
These are some gorgeous combination of colors.
Sandwiching a quilt and stitching around it.

Quilt is turned and stitched the opening closed.
The labels that are stitched on every donated quilt.
Stitching the labels on the back corner of the quilt.
 Final pressing.
We had two show and tell quilts tonight.
Thank you to all the member who journeyed out in the cold to make these much appreciated quilts.
